Securing a Site for Safety and Compliance
First4Property was brought in by an insolvency firm to carry out essential safety and enablement works on a partially constructed block of apartments in Poole, Dorset. The site, which had only reached the groundworks and concrete frame stage, presented several safety and security risks that needed urgent attention.
Our Role
With no external perimeter or internal protection in place, the open structure posed a significant fall risk, as well as vulnerability to trespassing. Our remit was to make the site safe and compliant while further development was on hold.
We carried out:
- Construction of temporary safety barriers around the perimeter of each of the four floors
- Secure containment of the structure to minimise access by trespassers
- Rapid enablement works to stabilise the site and ensure safety for any future trades or inspections
Challenges & Achievements
Working on an incomplete structure required strategic planning and strict adherence to health and safety regulations. The aim was to mitigate the immediate risks without altering or interfering with the core build – keeping the site secure, accessible for authorised personnel, and ready for eventual project resumption.
Our team responded quickly, delivered the works on time, and provided peace of mind for the client, knowing the structure was now protected from hazards and unlawful access.
